ABOUT
Canadian singer, songwriter, producer, designer and performer Dame Rashem Alexander aka. FVXO has spent over a decade traveling the world, shaping a multidisciplinary creative career that blends music, fashion, and cultural storytelling. With a voice often compared to Pharrell, Prince, D’Angelo, John Legend, and Outkast, Dame brings soul, intention, and originality to every stage he steps on. Whether as a performer, designer, or speaker, his work is anchored in a deep love for entertainment, global fusion, and conscious creativity.

2004

Dammien Alexander’s early connection to sound was shaped at family barbecues in Haddington Park and in the living room of his grandmother, Catherine Alexander. In both spaces, the spirit of Philadelphia’s music—past and present—was in the air: soul, gospel, jazz, street corners and stereo speakers.
That sound stayed with him. It shaped how he listened, how he moved, and eventually, how he wrote.
His story doesn’t begin with a career or a brand. It begins with music being everywhere—and impossible to ignore.
He began his professional music path around 2004, performing regularly in Canada‘s underground scene. Early on, he became involved with two live music collectives: Consolidated Grooves and Sonic Cinema, both known for their improvisational energy and hybrid musical styles. These projects allowed him to explore live performance, songwriting, and vocal arrangement in a collaborative setting. In parallel, he began recording original tracks with DJ Abacus and vocalist Jean King, establishing his presence as both a performer and a studio artist.

2007
BEAUTIFULLY
Dammien Alexander further dove into his music career in Canada, where he released his debut single Beautifully in 2007. His first release “Beautifully” was a self-produced effort which was subsequently licensed to the Toronto based independent label Curve Music to be distributed by Universal Records Canada.

He was also invited to teach a seminar on urban fusion at the 2007 Atlantic Jazz Festival.

2008
WE ARE WHO WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR
In 2008 Dammien followed his initial success up with “We Are Who We Have Been Waiting For” on Live Village Records (nationwide digital. Itunes, FYE) the independent label that he and Bus Stop Theatre founder Howard Beye created.
That album was signed by Sound Of Pop Inc and serviced to Ole Publishing. The album was made available to US and Canadian Universities. The album enjoyed 7 top 20 placements. His work quickly gained national attention, with rotation on networks such as MuchVibe and BET.
2008
In March 2008, Dammien Alexander performed at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto, sharing the bill with local indie bands Shadows In Red and The Terns. Known for its intimate setting and iconic status, the Horseshoe has hosted a staggering roster of artists over the decades—from Willie Nelson and Stompin’ Tom Connors to The Tragically Hip, Radiohead, and The Rolling Stones, who played a surprise show there in 1997. Performing on that historic stage marked a pivotal moment in Dammien’s early career, placing him within a venue known for shaping the trajectories of groundbreaking musicians. His soul-driven, live-looping set introduced his unique sound to a discerning Toronto audience and set the tone for his international touring career that followed.

THE HORSESHOE TAVERN
Press review on “We are who we have been waiting for“:

„Just to ensure that he isn't fitting into anyone's box, the third song, Satellite is a lovely, sparse song which features Dammien breaking out plenty of milky way metaphors over a simple heartbeat and keys melody. It doesn't stop there as Dammien continues to mix things up with bluesy, old school R&B flavours (Love Of A Lifetime), straight up hip hop over live instruments (The Heater), and straight-forward acoustic rock (Carry me).

One key milestone was the inclusion of his music in American Airlines’ in-flight entertainment system, exposing his sound to a truly global audience.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, he adapted quickly to the digital performance landscape. RESIDENCY IN GUATEMALA
During 2020 - 2023, based in Guatemala, Dame Rashem took a pause from large-scale touring to concentrate on his expanding fashion venture. At the same time, he remained creatively active in music, producing and releasing several artworks through different platforms.
One standout release was “Fade Away”, a cinematic video shot on location in Antigua Guatemala and Lake Atitlán, which Dammien co-directed, composed, produced, and performed in 2021.

By maintaining a strong creative output in both music and fashion, he balanced artistic growth with entrepreneurial focus. During this time, he performed select live appearances at local venues, most notably holding a residency at El Patio de la Primera in Antigua Guatemala. This era laid the foundation for his subsequent global return in late 2023.

2023-2024
EUROPE
In late 2023, Future Vintage XO resumed global touring, traveling through the United States, Canada, Mexico, Switzerland, and Spain. Alongside this musical journey, he undertook a complete rebrand—adopting the name Future Vintage XO for both himself and his fashion enterprise. In Switzerland, he performed at prominent venues including Moods, opening for celebrated hip-hop group CunninLynguists and collaborated with swiss artists to further evolve his sound. He delved more deeply into hip-hop, producing and releasing a number of new tracks and music videos that expanded his sound into darker, beat-driven, and lyrically complex territory. These releases were often accompanied by stylized visuals, shot on location in Swiss urban and natural settings.

Working directly with skilled artisans in Hoi An, the line now incorporates unique hand-woven silk tailored into limited-edition designs and couture pieces .

COMING SEPTEMBER 2025
LIVE IS FOR LIVING
In September 2025, FVXO will release his new full-length record, Life Is For Living—a project shaped over three years and across three continents. Written and recorded between Bangkok, Panajachel, and Zurich, the album reflects a long stretch of movement, experimentation, and private work.
Rather than following a single direction, the record documents moments—fragments from different places and phases—that hold together through mood, memory, and intention. Life Is To Be Lived is not a comeback or a reinvention, but a continuation: clear, raw, and unforced.
